Hello and thank you for checking out my site!

My name is Karen, and I have loved art and design since I could hold those thin Crayola markers. With over 14 years of professional design experience, I am so grateful to have been able to take my childhood passion for design on some incredible adventures. I have had the absolute thrill and honor to work with stellar teams at places like Reader’s Digest magazine, Georgia Tech, the National Geographic Society, Runner’s World magazine, and VeloPress- all starting with an amazing internship opportunity at Family Circle magazine in New York City. 

One of my favorite parts about being an art director and designer is getting the chance to work with so many outstanding art and editorial teams, as well as exceptional illustrators and photographers from all over the world. Not only is the final design product always exciting and rewarding to see, but the process of conceptualizing, creating, and collaborating with others is also extremely fulfilling to me.

When I’m not sketching layouts, working with illustrators and photographers, or geeking out over beautiful typefaces, you can find me enjoying time in front of a campfire with my fiancé, training for triathlons or marathons in new cities, dreaming of our next trip to another National Park, or throwing the ball around with my endlessly energetic chocolate lab.
